Domino was a rescue from Lake county animal control in 2009, he was emaciated abused and had a gaping abscess in his left leg. It took over 6 months for the wound to heal but he healed beautifully and you can barely see a scar. After he healed and was able we began seeing if he was ridable, he was but he had been forced to barrel race and was dangerous because he was trying to get away from pain. We worked with him for a long time on how to trust his rider and now he is one of the safest trail horses. He is owned by Allie (Lorans mom and co-founder of DCHR)
Our mission at DreamCatcher horse rescue is to rescue, rehabilitate and educate. We strive to rehabilitate each equine with their own individually required vet care, farrier care and nutritional needs. We provide a safe shelter, personal attention and unconditional love so that we can heal their traumatic past. We invite our community to our facility for educational equine programs. We want to share the rewarding love and joy our equines give back to us. Our goals are to create awareness and to educate the community on preventing cruelty, rescue and rehabilitation. Our commitment to these equines is to be their voice and give them the chance they deserve.
