Hero is an ex racehorse who was owned by a former grand prix rider in Orlando.
He got sick and has been hospitalized for 2 years before we got the call to come get him.
He has been lame for about 2 years and we found out through x-rays he had foundered.
We are working on new technology shoes to help heal this super boy!
Hero’s dad won the Belmont stakes in 1993 with the first women jockey to win a Belmont!
Our mission at DreamCatcher horse rescue is to rescue, rehabilitate and educate. We strive to rehabilitate each equine with their own individually required vet care, farrier care and nutritional needs. We provide a safe shelter, personal attention and unconditional love so that we can heal their traumatic past. We invite our community to our facility for educational equine programs. We want to share the rewarding love and joy our equines give back to us. Our goals are to create awareness and to educate the community on preventing cruelty, rescue and rehabilitation. Our commitment to these equines is to be their voice and give them the chance they deserve.
